Video/audio Streaming using linux

Hey all.

I need to setup something to steam video/audio live to the world. I see lots of stuff for MS but would prefer setting up on one of my RedHat or Centos servers. Is there any one out there who could point me in the right direction for a quick solution..

Thanks.

Video/audio Streaming
well i do alot of video streaming I use ffmpeg ffmpeg-php mencoder and x264. I can convert any video to any video format. I mainly use the jwplayer and the divx player. I like using mp4 files to stream video for one it will keep the same quailty if not better of the video also I can make the file about a quater the size of the video file. I have my own video script that I wrote my self that I use.

On the server end icecast is all you need. I stream ogg/theroa video to an ice cast server and it works really well.

For the program to produce the stream I use ffmpeg2theora it works great.

Not knowing you exact requirements this is a much advice as I can give you. For instance if you wanted to push out the stream to a web page you can do that with an embeded java viewer or you can just play it with something like VLC.

Anyway hope that helps or at least gets you pointed in the right direction.
